QUESTION: nothing just making sure

ANSWER: Then don't medicate him.  You will do more damage with medication treating the what-if-bug then you will cure.  Medication is not to be administered lightly... it will kill off the bacteria in  your tank which will cause the fish to get sick.  The purpose of a quarantine tank is to give you a place to observe your new fish and to medicate it if something should present.  Save your money and just observe the fish for a few weeks.  All fish carry disease the trick is to keep their immune systems healthy so tht they can fight them off before they become severe...  dave

QUESTION: so dont medicate at all, not even the melafix?

Answer
Not even the malafix... I have had situations where malafix made the situation worse.  Just keep the fish in the Q tank and after a week if they appear to be healthy ... their fins are intact, their eyes are clear, and they are eating and swimming around... then put them into your aquarium.  Stress is the biggest factor in producing disease so the Q Tank is a place where the new fish can settle down  to their new environment.  Hope this helps... dave
