Question
Hi Chris, I have this red honey dwarf gourami  that its body is 3/4 black, the others are all ok. None of the other fish seem to be affected by this change of coulour. Checked the PH, ammonia & nitrite and eveything is fine. Is spending most of the time in the darkest corner of the tank and going to the surface, any ideas of what could it be? Thanks a lot.

Answer
Hi Nuri;

He may be getting bullied or threatened by other fish and trying to hide. Fish change color when stressed to blend into their surroundings more. Gouramis are very territorial fish that often need to be separated from other gouramis, especially males. You might consider moving him to another tank by himself and see if he feels more comfortable in a few days once he settles in.
