found sucking on my gold fish

Question

unknown fish thing After two days away from my 30 gal. tank I found a tiny fish like thing on the back of a gold fish in my tank.
I is about 3mm long and greenish-yellow with black spots. it also has six or eight legs and a thin transparent main.
I have isolated the fish and removed the thing off its back. Do you know what it is? Are the rest of my fish in harm?

Hi Jeremiah: It looks kind of like a cross between a fish louse and a leech of some kind. The treatment is the same... treat with a copper based medication and keep your eye on the other fish as treatment is sometimes required more then once to kill off an infestation of parasites....You definately do not want these in your fish tank... keep me posted.. dave
