Question
Hello I have a pelcos in a 30 gallon take and we noticed that just recently his skin appears to be peeling off and very red and irritated we also have in the tank other non aggressive tropical fish like 2 garmis 2 silver dollars, a clown loca or something and another smaller pelco all the other fish appear normal and ok here are some pics of his skin

Answer
Hi Rebekah!

Well first of all, if you added salt than you should do a 100% water change because salt irritated the skins of scaleless fish. But skin peeling can also high levels of bacteria and ammonia. Since his/her skin is peeling, you should try the API Stress Coat and Ammo-Lock. Stress Coat has the healing properties of AloeVera and removes stress up to 40%. It also strengthens the protective slime on its skin. Ammo-Lock does what its name sounds like. It locks on the Ammonia levels to prevent them from going higher/lower.
Put the injured Pleco in another tank so the other fish don't bug it or nip its peeling skin while its recovering.

Hope this helps! :D
