can you tell me if fish need flourecent light to survive or is it just for show

Hi, their is no way your fish need flourecent light at all! the main reson for florecent light is for the fishes color it will shine more iridecantly with a florecent light but their is no need for this at all, i have 3 aqueriums and 2 do not even have lights, and the fish are all fine, so the anwser would be no they do not need florecant light, but make sure you have an aquerium heater they are not very expensive you may just make sur you have something which will heat up your water, you can even buy aquerium heaters at wal mart for 14.98$.THANKS!
