African cichlid eye problem

Question
I have an African cichlid that is yellow and black in color.  I really don't know much about them as I acquired a tank from a former teacher in my school district.  The fish had a white coating over one of his eyes.  It was almost like a bubble with a white color to it.  It went away after a few weeks and now the other eye has the same problem.  What could be happening to this fish and how can I treat the problem.

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Erin,
Do you have any other fish in the tank?  My guess is yes because what you are seeing is almost always the result of another fish biting that fish in the eye.  The good news is that if the fish is left alone, it should heal relatively quickly.
