Question
Two weeks ago I bought a burgundy male betta and have him in a 1/2 gallon tank.  He has gravel, and a plant, which he loves to swim through.  As I was changing his water this morning, he fell into the sink and after a few attempts, I was able to get Mani back into the old conditioned water.  He did not seem traumatized at first, but now, he is irradically swiming in his tank, his gills are visible and working like crazy and he keeps going to to the surface for oxygen more than he normally does.  He seems very aggitated.  Is something wrong?

Answer
Hi Adrianne;

Poor guy. That happens sometimes. He's probably just really, really stressed. Put his tank in a warm place and just let him be quiet and calm. You can even put a cloth over him to make it darker. Watch him for signs of finrot or fungus in case they were damaged.

I hope he feels better soon.....
