Fighting Fish in mineral water

Question
Hi! I'm Daphne. I just want to know if it is okay to use mineral water for my aquarium? Because it is too much of a hassle for me to use tap water, and i find it risky since tap water has chlorine right? By the way, the mineral water that i am using is the one that you originally pour tap water in a dispenser that has a ceramic filter, and when the water drops, there are mineral stones in the lower part of the dispenser (hope you get what i mean). Thank You!

Answer
IN the end, it would actually be easier and safer to use tap water. You need to buy tap water conditioner from a local pet store. It doesn't matter which brand - they all do the same thing, although some brands add slime coat replacers as well. One large bottle will last you well over a few months. The problem with your mineral water is that for one it will be harder to control the temperature of it going into the tank, which you want to keep as close as possible to the original water - and his tank should be comfortably between 78-85 degrees. They are tropical fish and should always have a heater in their tank.
The second problem is that regular tap water has all the minerals and electrolytes that your fish needs to be healthy. With a simple water conditioner the chlorine and chloramines are removed and the tap water is safe for your fish.
I don't think there will be a HUGE issue to continue using your mineral water, but I have always used tap water and have never had any luck with anything I or my fish keeper friend's have tried.
