goldfish acting strange

Question
My son's golfish has started acting strangely.  It is staying at the bottom of the tank, head first, like a head stand.  I don't see any discoloration or anything obvious on the fish.  It will swim around when startled, still eating and looks OK otherwise. It is not swimming awkwardly when it does swim. It is just not swimming around like it used to.  It is just  staying at the bottom of the bowl head first, almost vertical position. It is in a 3-gallon bowl with an aeration system and we have had it for approx 2 weeks.  I have done 2 50% water exchanges so far.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Kmm;

He needs a regular aquarium or 10 gallons with a good filtration system. Goldfish just can't live in bowls and small tanks as is commonly thought. His own waste is poisoning him in such a small container. Change his water twice a week to relieve his stress until he gets a bigger tank. Here is more about goldfish and their needs;

I hope he feels better soon......
