Pleco Feeding

Ron,
I would like to add a Pleco to a 55 gal. tank that only houses an 4" Oscar. Can you recommend a type of Pleco, also how can I be sure that it gets enough food to eat, with the ever hungry Oscar present?

Hi Blake,
 I feed my plecos with fresh zucchini and algae wafers. The oscar will likely eat the algae wafers, but probably not the zucchini.  

  As for types of pleco: the most important thing is that it be bigger than the mouth of the oscar otherwise, almost for sure, it will end up in the oscar.  There are hundreds of kinds of plecos, so the choice is up to you.
