Questioni have a green spotted puffer who has been very very healthy for 5 months now. all of a sudden he has white growth on his eyeballs that bulges out. we are very worried for him. please tell us what to do for him. he is in a 20 gallon tank with a goldfish, guppies, and an assortment of other basically non aggressive freshwater fish. (no cichlids.) we use aquarium salt to condition the tank, and feed him flakes, bloodworms and occasionally shrimp. please help! he is our favorite!!!!
AnswerHi Lindsay,
Have you been doing regular partial water changes on the tank? You need to be changing about 20% of the water once a week, every week to keep your fish healthy. White on the eyes can either be because of an attack by another fish, or because the water quality is getting bad and is hurting his eyes.
