Question
ok... I bought a 30 gallon tank with all my supplies. Also i bout (2 betas one male one female,5 guppies, and one placasumus.) then 3 days later i bought (2 tiger fish,2 little algae eaters and one bala shark). I wake up the next morning and couldn't find a guppy so i was looking and looking until i saw it at the bottom trying to go back up but couldn't so i put it in a separate tank while i ate breakfast and went to check on it and it was dead!! then same thing the nest morning. went to check on them and another guppie was missing, suddenly i found it laying dead at the bottom.

I was wondering maybe another fish attacked it because their tail fins looked bit off?

please help explain?

PS. thank you

Answer
Ok the female betta needs to come out of the tank because the male will most likely kill it! Ok the bala shark is going to need a much larger tank i reccomend 55 gallons per bala shark and the bala shark should be by himself because they reach sizes of 16 inches and are fully aggresive. The guppies could be dieing from
A) the other fish are terrorizing the guppies
B) The ammonia or nitrites might be high causing your fish to die.
I would get a test kit if you don't have one and start testing your water for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, alkalinity, P.H., and the hardness of your water. The brand "Jungle" makes a test kit for nitrites, nitrates, alkalinity, P.H., and the hardness of your water, and you will also need something to test for ammonia. If the tails look bit off the guppies the bala shark or the male betta most likely did it. Can you tell me what kind of fish your tiger fish are i need to know the exact name. Please reply to my questions and i can help you further.
