sudden ph drop

Hello...
I have a 12 gal f/w tank with 9 fish.
Do you think that a fish carcass undetected in the tank for a couple of days releases enough acid for the ph to drop drasticly(my ph droped from 7.0 to 6.2 suddenly,I'm trying to figure out why?)                    thanks for the opinion.

Hi Augie;

It is possible I think. Make a 25% water change every day for the next 4 days to help get things back in order. Water changes are the very best way to balance water chemistry. Fresh water slowly normalizes things and makes the fish feel good. Using chemicals to alter it makes the pH fluctuate so it can be dangerous. Much safer to do it naturally. Cheaper too!
