Goldfish laying on side on bottom

Question
I have one goldfish in a five gallon tank.  I have had him for 11 years.  Yesterday I noticed he was on the bottom and not swimming.  I changed the water and he has not changed.  Is there anything I can do for him.

Keep things very calm around his tank. Maybe he just needs some time to get his strength back after the water change. He may be at the end of his life now though. You've been able to keep him healthy for all these years and he is just a very old little fish. That's pretty amazing in such a small tank. I hope it's just a false alarm and he will be feeling better soon.......
