Question
i have a betta fish named sam and i had a fried over. she wanted to sketch him so she picked up his contairer. it slipped out of her hands and sam got pored out onto the counter. my friend atomaticly picked him up and put him bacl into the little bit of water that was still i his tank. unfortunatley, the tank had gotton aaa crack and was leaking water alover. eventully he got a new container and everthing was ok,till we noticed soething. sam is a vail til and he all the sudden had a double tail. my friend started crying and pointe to the counter. there was a pice of sams tail, jut a tiny little strip though. he seams alright now but im not sure what i should do just incase. he wasnt bleading, and he was swiming around fine. this all happened yesterday and today i came to check on him and he had fungus on his head. that can be treated so thats ok. the only reason that he has the fungus is because he was in shock and his amenune system was down. help me if you can! please...
thank you,
phoebe

Answer
Pheobe,
His tail should grow back with time, though it probably won't look the same as it did. Just keep him stress free for now, and make sure you are changing out his water once or twice a week. If he is in anything under one gallon, make sure you are doing it twice a week, and work on getting him a larger tank.
Adding some aquarium salt will do wonders for his healing process as well.
