Sick Black Moor, Please Help!

Question

Sick Black Moor
My Black Moor Goldfish, Eve, has been sick for about a week. It started with a little white around her gills, almost looked like cotton or something stuck on her. However, she was still active and eating normally. Recently it seems to be progressing and she has become lethargic. I read adding a little sea salt to the water may help, it didn't. I have also done two partial water changes hoping that may make a difference but still no improvement. I've attached a picture, please let me know what you think as soon as you can, thank you so much for your time!

Answer
Hi,
It appears to be extra slime coat development. I believe it is because of an out of place chemical in the water. Is there any chance of there being chlorine or any other harmful chemicals in the water? Sorry to not give you a cure, I just need to know exactly what we're dealing with first.

By the way, I really appreciate the picture. It is extremely helpful. Your also on the right track with most cures. personally I don't use salts, but it's really just personal preference.
