Question
QUESTION: in my 12inchx8inch tank i have one black stripped zeebra cichlid and one white convict . now zeebra laid eggs . both the fishes are guarding eggs .already four days gone .at this time what i have to do?

ANSWER: Hi Stephen,
Actually, you don't have to do anything other than watch and enjoy. The eggs should hatch any time now into wrigglers.  Wrigglers wriggle but they can't swim. They will stay that way for another 4 days or so. Then they will become free-swimming. At that point, you should feed them frozen baby brine shrimp.  Before that, they feed off their own yolk sacs.

QUESTION: shall i keep the parents after hatching?

Answer
Hi Stephen,
Actually watching the parental care after hatching is one of the best parts of keeping a fish like these.  They really are excellent parents.
