QUESTION: First i wanted to thank u for answering my catfish question, gave you a ten on all the categories, seems you know a lot about fish and aquatic life so i was wondering if you knew if sharks were availible as pets, certain types i mean and if they were, do you know where to contain them and how?

Well their is a certain shark called a bala shark and they would need a tank of at least  75  gallons because their max. size is about 16 iches. Their are other sharks you can keep as pets, but i just can't name them and you can buy a bala shark at almost any petstore. If you get a shark you want to do weekly water changes of at least 15% and keep the temp. at about 80 degrees F. also make sure you don't over feed or else you can have ammonia spikes that might kill your fish! I think their are other sharks that can live in smaller tanks, but i'm not sure. Good luck with the shark if you get one it might be a fun experience!!!

Ok bala sharks are freshwater fish so they can't live in saltwater. Petco should sell bala sharks and any other petstores should sell them. also when you are picking the bala shark out try to find the most active one(s) so you know it is healthy.
