chiclid fish

Hi my teacher ghave a chcild fish a few days ago ; i think he's an oscar? But lately he's been in the same sopt at the top and side of the bowl? Like at the very very top.
Is he about to die?

Hi Erica,
  Does the fish bowl have an airstone or filter in it?  If not, then it really isn't an appropriate place to keep a fish.  Fish need air in the water to breathe. They also need a certain amount of heat.  That is why most people keep fish in an aquarium (with a heater, a filter and an air stone) rather than in a bowl.
