Question
Hi There, I have a pregnant molly that looks like she is having a problem having her fry. I have her seperated in one of those small birthing floaters and I can actually see the babied moving inside her under the skin around where they should be comming out, but they are not comming and it looks like the whole bottom of her belly is streching out like a balloon, like the skin is getting very thin and I can see right through it. It almost looks like it herniating and she is going to literaly bust....she is just sitting at the bottom of that little tank thing and not moving... have you ever heard of this before is it possible she cant have them for some reason? If you have can you let me know, I have all kinds of mollies and they have babies over and over, I usualy dont even separate them anymore but I knew there was something different about this one so I put her in the floater thing. Thanks

Answer
no, i havent heard of this happening before..try adding aqaurium salt NOT TABLE OR ANY HUMAN SALT aqaurium salt (some people out table salt in)
this is supposed to sort of relax her and calms her so its easier for her to give birth..

i hope she is ok (also it might be because more than one is trying to come out at once and its got stuck) or because (thiis happened to me) where a baby is like a siamese twin..i had a fish that was born with 2 heads (it didnt survive) but that may have happened?

it also happened to my guppy and her stomache split at the front and she was bleeding alo before giving birth, but she and all her fry survived, and ive never had ALL my fry survive before that

good luck with your fish and i hope she is ok
