Gourami feelers

Question
Hi,
I have had a beautiful male pearl gourami for about 3 years now in a commmunity tank.  It normally had 2 long feelers that it used to move gracefully as it swam around.  Three days ago I noticed that both feelers were gone!!  (Well, one on one side is about a centimeter long now, whereas it used to be very long.)  Do you have any idea what happened to them?

Answer
Hi Frank

It is likely they were nipped by another fish in the tank. Try to keep an eye open for any other fish that may be nipping him. These have been known to grow back after removing the troublemaker in the tank, but don't worry if they don't, he will be fine without them.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Richard
