Discus Habitat

Question
Ron---Is it true that Discus can't live with other fish?  I'm thinking of buying them and have heard different opinions about the above.  Do I need to keep a discus-only tank?

Hi Larry,
 That is absolutely not true.  You have to pick their tankmates with a little care.  I kept them for years with lots of tetras.  I would not put in any large boisterous Central American cichlids, or something like an oscar.  Discus and angels often do well together.
