New fish!

Question
Hello! Im not sure if you will be able to answer this but i got a new fish today and i totally forgot what it was called and i was wondering if you could help me out. I am going to try and attach a picture but if it doesnt work i will try my best to describe the fish. First off it is really shiney silver"torpedo" shape with bright pink fins. That is all I can really explain. It almost looks like a sardine and it hangs out on the top of the tank. I know at the store the guy told me the name and all i can really remember is that it sounded like chelsea or something... any help?

Answer
Hi Alison;

The link worked great so I saw your excellent picture of your "Pink-Tailed Chalceus", or 'Chalceus macrolepidotus'. He's a very pretty and active fish in the tetra family that grows to be about 8 to 10 inches long. He needs at least a 55 gallon and larger as he grows. Keep the tank well-covered so he doesn't leap out. He will eat smaller fish so he needs to be with fish close to his own size. Here are some profile pages about him;
