QuestionI have had my betta for about a year and a half. He has been in a wall hanging bubble tank and about a week ago i bought a new plant for him recommended by a pet store. Since then a whit film coated the top layer of the water and yesterday i noticed that he had a white fuzz coating all around his middle. i used a salt water solution and put him in new clean water in a bowl but now he is not eating and is lying on the bottom of the floor. He is loosing his color and i think he is dying what should i do?
AnswerHi Laura;
It sounds like Columnaris. He needs an antibiotic. Here is a web page about it;

The white film on the water is probably unrelated, but clean it out and rinse everything to be sure.
I hope he feels better soon.....
