Question
QUESTION: I have 1 male and 2 female mollies i got about three months ago. When i got them the two females were already pregnant. One of the females had about 7, and the other only had about two.Well its been a while and the females havent gotten pregnant again. Is there something i can do to fix that.

ANSWER: Hi Zachary,
Hmmm.. that's really up to the mollies.  The best you can do is provide good clean water (regular, weekly, partial water changes) and good food and that should put them in the mood.

QUESTION: okay thank you,
and i have one question about my cichlids.theres about 8 of them in a 55 gallon tank and probably about four of them have a split right in the center of their tail fin.is this something that needs to be treated.its like exaclty what a swimming flipper looks like ith the crack in the middle.

Answer
Hi Zachary,
A split like that is not due to disease, it is due to attacks by another fish, likely another cichlid.  Keep your eyes open to see if these attacks get more serious: fins heal relatively easily but missing scales are a sign that things are heating up in the tank in terms of aggression.
