Neon Tetras.

I am curious about neon tetras. Do they make good beginner fish? Also, where is the best place to get them?

  Neon tetras are very pretty but not necessarily the best beginner fishes.  If you do go with neons, you need to have a group of at least 5, 10 would be better.  They live in schools not alone. It is also critical that you not put other fish in with them.  Neons are very delicate and most other fish will kill them pretty quickly.   You can get neon tetras (or cardinal tetras, which are similar) at most good fish stores. I would only put them in a 15 gallon or larger tank.
