white stuff growing on beta

i bought my beta about 4 days ago. and he was great until this morning. He has a white fuzz growing all over his body and he has settled to the bottom and does not want to swim anymore. what is this? and how do i fix it?

Hello Cassie-

This sounds like either columnaris or some type of fungus.
Either way, treat the tank with a strong dose of aquarium salt and Melafix to weaken the infection. Follow with a dose of QuickCure and Tetracycline.

It's hard to distinguish between columnaris and body fungus, but if you treat for both, I'm sure you will take care of the problem.

Change about 50% of the water every three days, and be sure the temperature is as close to 80 F as you can get it.
