Convict fish.

Question
I ahve a pair of convicts and I would like to know how do I know when they are pregnat? The one that I think is the female her color has chenge she is more dark in color and her belly is a bit red/orange and she chases the male out of the few homes we have for them in the tank. Can that be a reason for her to chase him away? should I get another ,ale involve to see if she likes him better than the one I already have thank you for all of your help and knowledge.

  Actually, from what you have described, there is a very good chance that she has laid eggs already; that's why she has gone darker and why she is being very protective of the area.
