male/female flowerhorn

Question
I have 2 flower horns in my tank and they fight mouth to mouth.  Does it mean they both male?  Do females fight mouth to mouth  with each other female/female?

Hi Cong,
 Face to face fighting could be between two males, between two females or between a male and a female, so that alone doesn't tell you anything.  The difference is what happens after the fighting.  If they continue fighting for weeks on end, then they are likely both the same sex. However, if after several days, the fighting suddenly stops and the two fish start hanging out together, then they are likely male and female.
