Question
Hi,
It u remember I am the Guy who has a guppy breding tank as you described it and started off by asking if I could add goldfish to the mix. Hi there :)

On ylour advice. I saperated the crooked guppy and kept it aside in a small pot I had as it was lonely. And as I wanted to experiment I added a male molly To the small pot (although about 3/4 foot diameter. And a few inches tall kinda shallow)

I had bought a female Molly with it too and kept it in the aquarium.

For some odd reason the male molly was found the next morning besides the pot but the female guppy was uaual in behavior ( quiet under the lip of the pot)

The female Molly though looks very pregnant and has been since I bought it 3 weeks back is not giving birth is it because I saperated it from the male... can I do something to encourage it to give birth
Also I added a plant that the pet store Guy said was called P... something but looks more like cabomba (it was very cheap ) is dying atleast I think it is I
did the soak in bleach routine before adding it also it does not have roots is that normal?

Also as I am a few weeks away from buying a power filter I have started a practice of hosing down the dirt to a corner and then sucking it back out.  What I basically do is keep the new water a few feet above the aquarium and use the force of the water to corner the dirt.  I use de-clorinted tap water.  Is this ok or will this destroy my n-cycle?

Thanks

Answer
Shrutesh,    I would have put another guppy with her. Your Molly is much more temperature sensitive. It sounds like she has a swimbladder infection. Try adding some aquarium salt or non iodized salt to the water. This should help at these measurements. You can break it down as necessary. It is 1 tablespoon per five gallons. Also, you can feed her a pea everyday. Frozen or fresh. You just need to give it a crack and then remove the shell later. It is for constipation and has natural antibiotic properties for swimbladder infection. Let me know how things go., Tina
