betta cant catch his food

hi jaymie, this is emergency and very sad, my blue betta seems odd, he looks hunger, respons to my come, waiting for his food droopped, he aims, then he jumps to catch it but never get it! i feel so sorry for him, dying to bite the food in front of his face, whats wrong jaymie? his sight is ok, he cant flare like he was to do, he is not pale, eyes not bloated, i want to cure him, please help me. thanks before, jaymie.

Not sure why they do that. Maybe he is bringing instinct from the wild. I also have a male that jumps out of the water to get his food. You can try putting the food in using tweezers and just hold the food in front of him. I do that when I want to make sure they are eating the right amount. My tanks are separated but the top of the water is open and sometimes food doesn't make it to some of the others. Try hand feeding and see if that helps.
