Question
Hi, I just brought a black moor fish yesturday and did everything the note told me how to put him in my Tank when i put him in he seemed to be very stressed i was hopeing he'd be alright this morning. When i got up and checked on him he was hidding away, i put some food in there but when he came out slightly he seemed to be still alittle stressed he was put in with a oranda together and the oranda seams to be watching over him and following him. I put in a day ago a sturgeon fish and im wondering if the black moor is just alittle afraid of him. Will he be alright and is there anything i can give him to calm his stress. My tank can hold 58 litres its quit a big tank and i have live plants and arnemounts which he hides in. Thanks your answer will be very much appriecated. Tracy.

Answer
Hi Tracy-

Poor little guy!

The oranda was a good choice- Black moors and orandas seem to be close friends more often than not. How big is the sturgeon? It's not unlikely that your little guy is afraid, but give him a few weeks and he will probably come out of hiding, once he realizes he's not going to be eaten. If he still seems stressed, you can add some Stresscoat (you can buy this at almost any pet store.) As long as the water is about room temperature, your little guy should perk up after a while.

Hope this was helpful!
