siamese fightihg fish

My friend has got a siamese fighting fish which he really likes but we are wondering what other fish we can put in with it that are also colourful. At the moment he has a few zebra danieos in with it and a few small guppies are these suitable? The tank is a juwel rio 180.

Hello Melanie-

I would be very cautious about putting a betta in the same tank with guppies. Zebrafish, on the other hand, will get along very well with your friend's betta. You can also look at white clouds, tetras, rasboras, or corydoras. Just be sure that you don't over-stock the tank; 1 gallon per 1 inch of fish.
