Sick ciclid

Question
i have convicts and I didn't think they fought since the female is missing her
tail now. they were sold as a breeding pair and have had babies before. Now I noticed there are white patches with skin missing on her sides. I am using lifeguard halo shield right now. What happened
to her tail? And what else can I do? Do you think they are not getting along any
longer?

Hi Dena,
 It sounds like they had a fight.  You need to separate them.  The fact that they had babies before does not mean that they cannot fight now.  In fact, that is often the case with cichlids. This is because they do not pair for life. They pair up only to have a set of babies, then they go their separate ways.
