perhaps broken tail feather

Question
have 20 year old cockatiel, rocky.  still going strong....

sometimes jumps off his cage - usually he's fine...but tonight I noticed some blood on a tail feather.  Looks like it was bent, cut, whatever.   Nothing is dangling, just a white-ish shaft coming from his body, but has wet blood.  does not appear to be still bleeding...

his mood seems the same - i notice alittle blood on his beak, as he must have been fiddling with it....

what are your thoughts?

rocky is very importnat to me... I got him when I was 7

Answer
Hello Adam and thank you for yuor question.

This happens quite offen with cockatiels, my first cockatiel always had brocken wing and tail feathers from flapping around in her cage.... she was so young and active when we got her she kept hurting herself :), Anyways I bought some septic cream (the powder will work too) and put it on where she was bleeding the bleeding stops almost right away, she was prone to night frights and would trash about and cause brocken feathers and they would of coarse bleed so this workd very well for me. IO hope this is of some help to you please feel free to ask me any further questions.
