Question
We have two cockateils given to us and I am unsure the sex of them. One is mostly gray and yellow and the other is gray bit also has white spots on the tail and some on the wing area. How do I tell the difference between the tow for sure? i hope maybe you can enlighten me. Thank you

Answer
Hello Beth.

The only way to be able to tell for sure is to have a DNA test done at the vets.  It is a little bit pricey, but the tests are accurate.
Other than that, you really just have to wait and see.  If either one of them lays eggs, then the answer is obvious.  If either one of them talk, then it is a male.  Males are more vocal than females.  Males usually do more whistling and sreaching than females do.

Either way, I really hope that you enjoy your new feathered friends.

I am sorry that I am not able to better answer your question.

Good luck and God Bless.
