Question
Hi! I have started hand feeding the baby now! It's really hard because the mouth of the chick is so tiny! I have noticed that when I feed it, there is a "sack" object on it's neck. Is that where the stomach is because if it isn't, the food is getting caught in the neck. After awhile it decreases in the stuff in the sack which I think is the formula i'm feeding it and it poops (about the side of a few grains of sand! The poop is really small!) so yeah... whet is the sack called? I know something though, it starts with a "C"

next, the sack is called a crop. Make sure the formula is not too hot, but is warm. Use a very small syringe with a pointier tip, small. You will need to watch to make sure the crop fully emptys before the next feeding. Baby parakeets at 1 week old will require around every 2 hour feedings , then it will slow down to every 4 hours, then 3 times a day, finally 1 time a day, night feedings with seed, millet, and begin weaning.
