what is the lifespan of a cockatiel?

Hello Angela, the avrage life span if fed/exercised properly is between 10-15 years, a fat or inactive bird will probly not live beond 7.          tara, my cockatiel is at least 18 years old. Is this unusual.  do you know old the oldest living cockatiel was?

Hello Angela..... are you sure your cockatiel is really that old? I was mistaken with teh age thou, as I have been anwsering questions about love birds latety I got mixed up, the 10-15 years is avrage but if teh but is very well cared for it is not unresanable for it to live to 20/25 thew olderst I belive was somewere around 26.
