wild birds

Question
What wild Canadian (Ottawa, ON) bird does a long wolf whistle - I've been listening to them do it for the last 10 years or so on my street and I have yet to discover which bird does that.  I tried searching on google and when I listened to all the birds they suggested none of them sounded like the birds on my street.  I hope you can help.  Thx

That's a description I have never heard, but I'm guessing it could be a killdeer or nighthawk. Can you record it and send the sound to me? Or get a look at the bird? If you haven't seen it, are you sure it is a bird? Insects can have such sounds as well.
