Question
My best friend is moving to California and we live on long island. She does not know that much about birds. They say they love them but i don't think they take care of them that well. I always sit down and talk with her but now i think there is another problem, she is moving to California in a week. She is going to take the birds, two parakeets and 2 cocktails. They are planing to travel for two weeks, stoping at places. They can not bring the birds in the hotel are anything. I want to help t these birds out allot. i want to become a vet when i am older and i really don't think they will survive. am i right or am i wrong. Please try to get back to me as soon as possible. I want to make sure these birds won't get hurt. I just don't  think they will make it. But would they make it by plane. I have been bugging her for about two weeks now. What should i do?

Answer
Birds, cages and travel don't go good together.
But with some basic rules it goes good.

I guess they transport the bird by car. In a moving car water is going to make a mess. So if they are standing still water and food need to checked and given to the birds.

Birds travelling by air are very good cared for by specialized people. And for those two weeks the people of the airport can take care of them.

And the birds can be picked up at any wanted time.

Two weeks in a car is little bit too long for those birds.
If they want to it they need advice of professionals, because transporting birds 4 hours is some how a limit.
After that you need to feed them and check if they are eating.
