Hello Brian and thank you for posting.
I do not recommend giving a bird ANY candy or sugar at all.  Too much can create liver or kidney problems, not to mention that it can cause your bird to get too fat, which can create a number of other health issues.
If you want to give your bird a treat, millet spray, a piece of apple, a grape, even a piece of lettuce are all wonderful treats for a bird.
