Wing Clipping- Cocktiels

Hello Jeroen, My parents have a Cocktiel they want to start taming but naturally we need to clip it's wings. we just want to know the proper procedure. Any information you can help us with would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid you asked it to the wrong person.

"but naturally we need to clip it's wing" why do you think that clipping is natural. You can tame cocktiel without clipping wings.

A bird need it wings. In the same way a dog needs it tail.

Please do not clip the wings. Birds need be able to fly. They also need it to keep balance.

The clipping it self is very stressful and it could ruin the birds trust in humans and the chance that could be come tame.

If you do it let it be done by a vet.
