Is it safe to fertilize our field if our pregnant mare is eight months along?

Hi,
         Much of this depends on the type of fertilizer you use and what the bag says. I do not like to fertilize a pasture in the first two months of a pregnancy and in the last 60 days, if the mare is in the pasture.. This is because a mare can more easily abort during this time and also that the foal can become deformed. If you are not able to hold off from doing it, then put her in a stall for 48-72 hours and then you can put her in another pasture and she should be ok.
