Answer
Hi Ganesh,

The red-eared slider hatchlings you find in shops are raised in overcrowded, unhealthy conditions, so they're often in poor shape.  You can help your turtle by making sure that you have it set up correctly.

You didn't give me any information on how you're keeping your turtle, so I'll just give you some basic information and then link more detailed care info for you to read over.  RES get quite large and require big tanks or ponds.  For a hatchling, a 20 gallon tank is minimum, but I strongly advise you to get a bigger tank so that it will work for your turtle for a few years.  I would get a 50 gallon tank, and then plan to upgrade to a 100+ gallon tank in a few years.  You also need a good filter and a basking light and source of UVB for the basking area.  The water temperature should be about 78 degrees, and the basking area (directly under the basking light) should be 88-90 degrees.  If your turtle is too cold, it won't eat.

Hatchling RES are mostly carnivorous, so you should be offering primarily meat items (bloodworms, tiny guppies, small earthworms, etc.) along with pellets (Reptomin are good) and some greens.  Variety is important.  Feed daily, but don't overfeed; at about six months, cut back on the food so your turtle doesn't grow too rapidly.

Please read over the information below carefully, and if you have questions post back.
