parasites

Question
I found some small (3/8th of an inch) red worms in/around my eastern painted turtles fecal matter. They seem to be slightly segmented, are quite red in color and seem to have a small head. I assume they are a parasitic worm. Yuck.
How do I get rid of them. Is there a safe "wormer" for turtles?

Many turtles, especially wild caught. have parasites. Usually they are not a problem unless the animal is stressed. Most de-wormers for turtles are pretty heavy-duty things that should be prescribed and monitored by a vet.
