Sick turtle.

Hi i have a palm size turtle. Ive had him about a year now. But his eyes are closed. And he isnt eating unless i feed him. I dont know what to anymore. Is there most likely a cure for this?

Hi Karen,

If your turtle is very sick you need to take him to a good herp vet.  In the meantime, I can try to help you with husbandry issues, but I need a lot more information.  If you can tell me the following, I'll do what I can to help:  species and age of turtle; type and size of enclosure; type of filter; type of basking and UVB lighting; temperatures at basking spot and in the water; and diet.  Please be detailed and specific--the more I know, the more I can help.  Many health issues are due to things like improper care, especially poor diet, so you may be able to make some changes that will help improve his health.  If you can provide the information I asked for, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
