Question
Hello, I have had my ball python for four months. He is a baby and he does not want to eat anything. So I have to force feed him. He seems to be constipated because where he is supposed to poop, it is swollen. He is also shedding. For bedding, I use a flat green pad and is that bad? I used to use wood chips, but what do you suggest?

Answer
Babies are sometimes hard to get started. It's always best to buy an animal that is feeding reliably on frozen-thawed food. In any event, if he has swelling it would be best to get him to a reptile vet ASAP. I don't think it's a problem with the bedding though.
