Question
I got this f. pastel in bad shape. she had bad eye caps and needed to shed bad. that was the superficial probs. got those taken care of. thought i was in the clear then we notice the bubbles and popping. she is breathing without opening her mouth. we opened her mouth and sticky spit everywhere. she isnt "coughing" so my buddy thinks we caught it early enough. he says we can cook it out of her. high high humidity and temps around 90. is this possible or do we just need to take a trip to the vet.

Answer
Hey Kevin,

You did catch the infection early, but not early enough to try to fix it with that method.

It would be advisable to bring her into a vet and get some antibiotics. At least this way you know your going to end up with a healthy snake after all is said and done.

If you ever encounter this problem again it is due to the temp and humidity levels within the tank. You should check them to be sure they are at the proper levels.

Heat 89-92 degrees
Humidity  60-65%

These are levels that will help with shedding and digestion

Hope this helps,
