Clamp lamps?

Hi do clamp lamps rest flat ontop of the screen top on the tank or are they clamped to something? what are they clamped too?

Hey...good question.
Actually, the clamp lamps were originally invented for use by campers to hang on branches or in their tents or whatever.
It wasn't until later that people discovered that they are good for use in reptile cages, because they reflect all the heat and light into the cage rather than in the room. I believe they make very similar lamps meant for use in reptile cages without clamps, but they will probably be more expensive than the original clamp ones.
So, just ignore the clamp (I think you can actually remove it), and just set it on top of the screen.
