baby snake identification

Question
Yesterday and again today, found baby snake in my swimming pool.  Yesterday's was a bit smaller, maybe 8-9 inches, today a bit larger 10-11 inches.  The one from yesterday seemed to have a pattern similar to king snake of alternating black/white sort of like tiger stripes. I set this one free in the open.  Since we found another one today took a couple pics before setting it free, which seems to have clearer pattern.  My backyard isnt too large, but to find 2 babies in 2 days, seems there might be more. I will email a couple pics of the larger one.  I live in Lancaster,CA (not far from where the hills end and desert begins) nothern part of Los Angeles county.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Charles,

FOLLOW UP=hey charles yes for sure banded kings and very nice looking one at that .thanks again ,tommy
from where you live and the discription it sounds like the banded king snake for sure there may be one or two more around i wouldnt be surprised, but they are great snakes non-venomous,ive picked up a lot of wilds in california never was bit, looking forward to pics, most are very curiuos and pretty mellow, wicth conterdicts there name as they got the name king snake because it will eat other snakes including rattle snakes.

             thanks
